Publication Ethics

This statement is based on COPE's Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

For Author

Reporting Standards

The author provides original research results with an objective and accountable approach. The author states that the results of the research presented are results that were carried out honestly without any data processing or falsification. The author uses accurate and detailed references to enable others to develop research. Manuscripts must follow the journal writing guidelines.

Originality and Plagiarism

The author is responsible for the authenticity of his writing. Research must use recognized and correct references (in this case using Mendeley or Zotero). Original words taken directly from publications by other researchers must appear in quotation marks with appropriate citations.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

Authors may not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal publisher at the same time. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is unethical and unacceptable research behavior.

Source Acknowledgment

The author must acknowledge all sources of data used in the research. Recognition of other people's work must be done properly and correctly, according to the general rules that apply.

Writer of scientific articles (journals)

The author is an individual contributor who contributes both concept, design, implementation and interpretation. Authors making significant contributions to research must be listed as authors. Generally, the main author is listed as the first author, while the later authors have different roles in writing the scientific article. The researcher must ensure that each of the authors involved has approved the submitted version of the manuscript.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works

If in the published article there are errors or inaccuracies in typing or even violation of the law, then it is all the responsibility of the author, not the journal publisher. If the author finds any errors as mentioned above after publication, the author must immediately notify the editor to withdraw or correct the contents of the article.

For Editor

Publication Decision

Based on the results of the Editor In Chief or Managing editor's report, the editor can accept, reject or request improvements to the manuscript. The basis for this decision relates to the interests of the author, the publisher's journal, and the benefit of the reading public. The editor is guided by the sensitivity that each article does not conflict with the law, there is no defamation, either for individuals, groups, or institutions, and there is no copyright infringement or plagiarism. The managing editor is responsible for all published manuscripts, both the quality of the material, design, and timeliness of the publication.

Review Script

The managing editor always evaluates each manuscript at an early stage regarding authenticity, material quality, writing format, and suitability with the focus and scope of Kharisma: Jurnal Ilmiah Teologi. The managing editor arranges and assigns reviewers fairly, and wisely and upholds blind review. The managing editor explains the peer review process to the authors. The managing editor assigns reviewers to review articles according to their expertise and avoid conflicts of interest.

Fair Decision

Managing editors must rate each manuscript without displaying the author's gender, race, religion, or nationality, but review it for intellectual content purposes. The managing editor makes decisions fairly and impartially and upholds the principles of editorial independence and integrity. Editors are in a powerful position to make decisions regarding publication, so it is important that decisions are made as fair and unbiasedly as possible.

Confidentiality

The managing editor can maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts sent by the author. Editors must be able to thoroughly assess any potential breaches, data protection, and confidentiality of sources.

For Reviewer

Confidentiality

The information contained in the manuscript must be kept confidential. Such information may not be displayed or discussed with others except with the permission of the Managing Editor.

Source Acknowledgment

Reviewer must ensure that the author has acknowledged all data sources used in the research. Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the author. Each statement that the algorithm, derivation, or argument has been reported is accompanied by relevant citations. Reviewers must immediately notify the publisher of the journal if they discover irregularities, have concerns about ethical aspects of the work, are aware of similarities in substance, have been published in another publisher's journal or if or suspect that there is some other interference by the author.

Objectivity Standards

The manuscript review must be done objectively. Reviewers must express their views clearly with rational, specific, and helpful arguments for writers to improve their manuscripts. The reviewer must explain important additional investigations to support the author so that the article is sharper and more weighty.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Reviewers may not consider rejecting or accepting articles for reasons of having conflicting interests, for example, due to competition or other relationships with the author. Even though Kharisma: Jurnal Ilmiah Theologi uses a double-blind review, if the reviewer suspects the identity of the author who has the potential for a conflict of interest, then the reviewer should convey the accusation to the editor.

Deadline

Reviewers must respond within a reasonable time frame. Reviewers only agree to review a manuscript if they are reasonably confident that they can return the review within the timeframe proposed or mutually agreed upon with the editorial team. Reviewers should immediately contact the editor if they require an extension. If the reviewer feels that it is impossible to complete the review manuscript within the allotted time, this information must be communicated to the editor, so that the manuscript can be sent to other reviewers.
