Analisis Sikap Mahasiswa Teologi terhadap Kejahatan Media Sosial dalam Era Transformasi Digital

Abstract

Digital transformation has influenced theological education, particularly through social media, which presents both opportunities and challenges—including online crimes such as fraud, hoaxes, and online gambling. This study aims to analyze theology students’ attitudes toward these phenomena. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 10 theology students from various academic levels, supported by relevant literature studies. The findings indicate that while most informants are aware of the negative impact of social media on their spiritual and social lives, they have not consistently applied digital ethics based on biblical values. The main factor influencing this attitude is the lack of integrated guidance on responsible technology use within the theological curriculum. Romans 12:2 and Proverbs 1:7 serve as essential foundations for renewing the mind and cultivating a reverent fear of the Lord. This study underscores the need for integrating spiritual formation and digital literacy in theological education to equip students to be critical, wise, and faithful to their calling in the midst of an increasingly complex and ever-changing digital world.Top of FormBottom of Form

 

Abstrak  

Transformasi digital memengaruhi pendidikan teologi, khususnya melalui media sosial yang menawarkan peluang sekaligus tantangan, termasuk kejahatan daring seperti penipuan, hoaks, dan judi online. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis sikap mahasiswa teologi terhadap fenomena tersebut. Dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur terhadap 10 mahasiswa teologi dari berbagai jenjang studi, serta didukung oleh studi literatur terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar informan menyadari dampak negatif media sosial terhadap kehidupan rohani dan sosial, namun belum secara konsisten menerapkan prinsip etika digital yang sesuai dengan ajaran Alkitab. Faktor utama yang memengaruhi sikap ini adalah kurangnya pembinaan terpadu mengenai penggunaan teknologi secara bertanggung jawab dalam kurikulum teologi. Roma 12:2 dan Amsal 1:7 menjadi dasar penting dalam membentuk pembaruan budi dan sikap takut akan Tuhan. Penelitian ini menegaskan perlunya integrasi antara pembinaan spiritual dan literasi digital dalam pendidikan teologi, agar mahasiswa mampu bersikap kritis, bijaksana, dan tetap setia pada panggilan pelayanan di tengah tantangan dunia digital yang kompleks dan terus berubah.
